About Love Learning Literacy

Love Learning Literacy™ is a sole trader company that provides teaching and assessing services for children and adults with literacy difficulties/dyslexia. It is owned by Vibeke Bird, APC, MDG.

Love Learning Literacy places high importance on privacy and abides by the General Data Protection Regulations (2018).

  1. Types of data collected:

It is essential that a range of background information regarding the assessee is collected via parents and the school attended.

Types of data collected include:

. Personal identification (including name, date of birth)

. Contact details (including address, phone number, email)

. Personal information (including reason for referral, education history, details of SpLD, family background, assessment data, previous reports and notes made in meetings)

. Relevant dates (regarding meetings and assessment)

  1. How and when data is collected:

Information is initially collected via questionnaires distributed to parents and the school attended by the assessee. Further information is then gathered during meetings with the school SENCo, the class teacher (and occasionally, the parents). The assessment is a main source of data collection, ready for analysis.

  1. How data is stored and the length of time it is held for:

Scoresheets and paper/digital notes will be held for a period of twelve months. A request can be made for this information to be destroyed/deleted earlier, if preferred.

A digital copy of the report will be held for 7 years in case your copy becomes lost. A request can be made for it to be deleted sooner than this, if preferred.

Additionally,

    • The test results and the contents of the report are strictly confidential and are stored securely in line with the key stipulations of the General Data Protection Regulation (2018). During report preparation, paper files are kept in a locked filing cabinet and all digital data will be stored on a password-protected private computer.
    • All information held with regards to this assessment is Windows encrypted and cannot be accessed without a password unique to the account.
    • Data will be used solely for the purpose of the report and held for a period of twelve months or until the dissemination of the report. Information/data will be held in paper and digital format. Upon dissemination of the report, all papers in relation to the assessment will be shredded, files will be deleted and back-up files/trash bin will be emptied.
    • The data belongs to you (parents/carers) and your child.

  1. Who the information is disclosed to:

A password-protected copy of the report will be emailed to the parents of the assessee. A paper copy can be requested to be presented in the feedback meeting.

A feedback meeting may be arranged with parents. School SENCos may be invited upon request of the parents.

The assessment/report will not be shared without written permission from the parents of the assessee.

A request to share the report (on the rare occurrence of APC renewal) will be made in writing to the parents. This would involve the complete anonymisation of the assessee involved.

Information which falls under the Duty of Care, in which a child is deemed unsafe, will be disclosed to the relevant authority.

  1. Your access to data

Should you wish to view, amend or delete data held, please send your request to Vee Bird at ilovelearningliteracy@gmail.com.

When possible, and not controlled by law, requests will be adhered to.
